Digital Camera - Canon or Panasonic?

In your opinion which is better?

Canon by far.

they've been in the business longer and have a wider variety of products for whatever work you might be doing. their less expesnive digital cameras tend have a much higher quality in the similar price range.

I personally stay away from Panasonic. They usually have a good number of bells and whistles on their products but they don't last as long or have as good quality as many other brands.

I prefer sony.I have a sony DSC-T9 cyber shot,it's good.If you ask me to chose from Canon and Panasonic,I will chose Canon,because Canon is more professional on digital camera,Panasonic is more professional on its Walkman and mp3.

It is not really possible to give a definitive answer to this question as there are lots of different types of camera but before I left for a recent trip to South America I looked into getting a 5 Mega pixel digital camera. I looked at lots of reviews and and compared prices between lots of different models and in the end I was left with a choice between Canon, Sony and Panasonic. In the end I chose a Panasonic DMC-FZ5. I have been pleased with what I got and it was quite a bit cheaper then similar cameras that to me did not offer the same versatility. A link to a review for the Panasonic DMC FZ5 is included. Plenty of people will disagree with my opinion but it really depends on what type of camera you are looking for and how much you want to spend.

It depends how fancy of a camera you want. I choose the Canon S2IS. I've been relatively happy with it. It got good reviews. The FZ20 and FZ30 are good cameras as well that are a little better than mine. The Leica lens on the Panasonics are supposedly very good lenses. But I looked at the sample pictures of the Pansonic cameras, and they aren't as "smooth" relative to my Canon. I am still up in the air which camera is better.
