I went to the camera store and they pointed out the bent pin and said it would take a month and $250 for Canon to fix it. Anyone know where this can be done sooner or someone other than Canon that can repair these type problems. I work for a photographic camera shop in the UK, I get the same problems from many customers. Yes it will cost you a lot to get it repaired from Canon. It is about 130 pounds to get it repaired from Canon.
How to avoid such problem?
The only answer is, use branded memory cards. You might find cheaper memory card on the internet and you will definitely go for them, but i would never recommend this.
Sometimes I do suggest customers to get it repaired from small shops who does onsight repair and will be a lot cheaper, may cost you only $25. But it will be at your own risk. Because these camera repair shops may damage your camera and won't take any liability. Canon has a professional staff to look after your camera. |
