Sony A200K DSLR Camera or Canon Rebel XTI?

price is of no concern as i know the prices. tell me which one you would choose and why?

The Sony for the in-camera Image Stabilization. No need to pay extra for it with every lens you buy.

The Sony since every Minolta Maxxum AF lens will mount to it and auto focus. No need to pay for AF with every lens you buy.

The Sony since they are releasing a Carl Zeiss line of lenses.

The Sony A350 has Live View which works with AF and is articulated. Very usefull when shooting at ground level or of the only way to get the shot is by holding the camera over your head.

I was in the same situation except i was considering the Sony alpha 700 vs. Canon Eos 40D prosumer DSLR line. I gave priority first to Sony because I had Konica Minolta Camera & lenses which was bought by Sony and so the lenses were compatible. In any case, I did more research and found it hard and costly (but necessary) to ditch the compatibility issue and invest with the Canon. In seeing pic samples of Sony alpha line vs. the Canon Eos line, the Sony pics do have good detail but not better than the Canons. I guess because Canon's been in the DSLR biz much longer than Sony and developement of the canon sensors is much further along than sony. Overall, pic quality on the Canon side just has more pop while Sony's a bit more matted IMHO. Plus Canon has a much wider range of tried and true line of lenses.

If price is no concern, look at the Canon 5D or Nikon D300.

The choices of lenses and other accessories with those two providers of professional camera equipment gives them the edge over any of the other DSLR's (Pentax, Olympus, Sony, Sigma and Samsung).

Nikon lol but out of the 2 you list I would go with the Canon!
