Camera warranty canon powershot tx1?

Any recommendations about buying a warranty for the Canon Powershot TX1 and if so which one (options from newegg)?

It depends upon your financial situation and how much you use the camera. The camera should come with a standard warranty. Perhaps that may suffice?

I tend to work on the assumption that if a camera is faulty, then the fault will show up very soon after purchase, so I don't bother with extended warranties, and besides a TX1 is not a hugely expensive camera so it is not going to bankrupt you (hopefully) if it falls apart as soon as the standard warranty expires.

Having said that though, I have had two cameras develop faults at around the time the standard warranty expired. One was a cheapy so it didn't matter to me, the other was an expensive one, and fortunately was covered.

Another thing you might consider is that the TX1 is already a year old model and like most digital comeras will likely be obsolete before any extended warranty expires.

Good choice of camera though! I really like the TX1. The quality of the MJPEG video is superb.

Cheers.
