Just remember that there are EF & EF-S lenses.
EF will fit any digital SLR while the EF-S will only fit the DSLR that are not full frame (it will have a white square on the lens mount)
EF : Red Dot

Yes, Unless you have a 5D or better multiply the lens legnth by 1.6 to get the true focal length on your camera. For example if you have a 100mm lens it will be like a 160mm lens on a Rebel XT,XTi, XSi, 20D, 30D or 40D.
