New Canon Camera - which to buy - SD890 IS or SD790 IS?

Hey,
I'm trying to decide which new camera to buy. I want a canon, because I have experienced that they take the best pictures by far.
I've narrowed it down to the PowerShots - SD890 IS and SD790 IS Digital Elfs --
what are the difference between these cameras, and which one is "better"?
I want to preferably be able to carry it in my pocket, because I am going to Eureop and want to always have it and not lose it, and I know the SD790 is a small, good pocket camera, --is the SD890 small enough for jeans pockets?
I want to buy the better camera, which appears to be the SD890, but if the SD790 is just as good, (which I'm trying to figure out) I might want that one, for mobility.
Thanks for your help on which is the best camera to buy, and the differences of these two cameras.

K thanks for answers so far --
Are there any other differences making the SD890 a better camera, as it is more expensive? Is it A LOT bigger than the 790? Or are they both "pocketable" if needed?

I don't care which you buy - do NOT put a camera in jeans pockets! If they bend - they break.

The SD890IS looks like a better camera to me. It has a bit more zoom on the tele end and it has an optical viewfinder.

It's been so long since I used this stock answer, I am glad to post it for you:

I would choose almost any camera with an optical viewfinder over one that only has an LCD viewfinder. Why?

1. You never have the option of turning off the LCD and these things eat batteries for lunch and spit them out. Why do away with the option of a viewfinder that has zero electrical drain?

2. It can be difficult to see the image on an LCD in bright sunlight, even if they are "new and improved."

3. You have to hold an LCD viewer out at some distance in front of your face. This is more conspicuous than I prefer to be all the time.

4. The need to hold a camera at arms length will introduce some shake. I like the idea of stabilizing a camera against my face when I am taking a picture. This is especially important with a longer zoom lens. No wonder "image stablization" or "vibration reduction" is necessary with these cameras. Not that there's anything WRONG with IS or VR, but it is really a requirement with LCD viewfinders and telephoto lenses.

5. Using the LCD to view photos after you've taken them slows down the camera quite a bit. You can't shut of the LCD monitor and still take pictures if you don't have an optical viewfinder.

The choice on looking is personally.
Both are mostly same every things.
SD 790 IS has a better lens than... [ Max. f/ 2.8 ( w ) - f/4.9 ( T )
SD 890 IS .........[ Max. f/ 3.2 ( w ) - f/ 5.7 ( T ).
