I'm flying to China Monday and taking expensive camera gear. Documents needed to prove I didn't buy gear there |
Someone said that on my return from China, I may be suspected of buying camera and lenses there, and be taxed for such. Is this true, and what do I need to do to have a hassle free trip. I have a nice Canon camera, and a couple of nice lenses, one a 70-200. When you get to the airport, go to US Customs, and register your equipment. Getting back into the US is a breeze with that paper work. It only takes a minute. You might want to write down the names and serial numbers of each so you won't have to get everything out of your camera bag while you stand in the customs office. ......just bring the receipt of your camera so you'll need not to worry about it.... |
