Many States Don't Have Canon Stores...

such a state is florida, they don't have a canon repair shop or a canon store, at least in the mid-southern reason of florida. It weird that they don't have one, although they should, it's not like they're loosing business in Florida, alot of Floridians use canon, but if you want to buy canon lenses, and flashes you'd have to buy them from some where else. Such as walmart, target or something like that. But, alot of states don't have canon shops, so you'll have to get from a third party vendor, i'm not sure of some of the stores, you didn't mention your location.

Hi Belle.... If you have a Ritz or Wolf Camera Store in your state, they will have it. Also... Just look in your phone book under "Photography Supplies Retail" and call them to ask if they handle flashes for Canon. They have to, actually... as that is one of the very basic and necessary accessories for digital cameras. I don't think you are going to have any trouble finding one in your city. But just a bit of advice... I would tend to buy one from a camera store online. I trust and have bought from B&H. The reason is that prices for these things are pretty compatible with retail store in your area.... but you really save alot of money by not having to pay tax. Shipping fees are charged but they are very nominal. My experience is not actually ordering from online... I call the 1800 number so that I can speak to a sales rep, ask questions, and buy directly from a human voice. Hope I was able to give you something else to think about. Good Luck... You can buy SD or SDHC memory cards anywhere that sells cameras or electronics. For the 450D, I recommend a high speed card such as Sandisk Extreme III SD or SDHC.
