Which Canon Camera would you suggest I buy?

None. Buy a Nikon D40. It's more comfortable to hold than a Canon, and it's a lot easier to understand than the more expensive Nikons. The only weak point is the quick charger that comes with a kit. It tends to get warm, but it still does the job. Whichever camera you get, I advise fixing on a screen protector as soon as possible.

That depends on what you want in a camera, I'm not familiar with those as I am a SLR guy, but don't be fooled by the digital zoom numbers. It's the "optical zoom" that you want. 12X is good for a minimum, digital zoom is way too grainy to mean anything. Also be sure to get one with good rechargeable batteries and charger and quick flash refresh times, as sometimes these are slow when using flash. Most cameras also have movie with sound capabilities which is a nice feature! good luck

4 is supposed to have the better image quality of all of those. You might want to consider the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III though.
