Best Canon Powershot Digital Camera Under $350?

Looking into getting one--my other digital cameras had poor quality pictures and a super long shutter delay. I'd like to know (especially from personal experience) which canon camera with my budget would be the way to go.

Canon?. I though nikon was gaining the lead in the photography market. Well, in my opinion anyway. I think canon is much to overrated, nikon is what's happening. But, if you insist i'll suggest some canon camera in the powershot line.

that's the canon powershot s5Is, it's a pretty decent camera, with IS, a large zoom range, it has a two and a half inch screen which can be munipulated in almost any position. Well, it's right on your line. It costs 350$ dollars, on http://amazon.com

and that's the canon powershot a570is, it's another nice digital camera, with two and a half inch screen, and IS, and all of that too, it's only like 140$, or something, and it's a good camera.

well, thats the a570IS, it's about 200$, pretty cheap, but price doens't matter in this situation. It has image stabilization, and a six times zoom and all of that.

But, you need to go with the nikon, the nikon:

Those are the newest, and hottest cameras on the market today, excluding singles lens reflex of couse, they aren't that good =).

The Powershort hierarchy is the G9 (advance amateurs), S5 is (enthusiasts), SX100 for first-time crawlers and A650 who need too much for their own good! Canon promotes jack of all trades, master of none.

May I suggest a nice Nikon Coolpix P5100, P80 or P60?

Canon S5 IS should be under $350. It can use an external flash which will greatly improve indoor flash photography.
