How to focus a Canon a590IS powershot camera?

i was wonderng how to take a picture that is focussed in one point and then blurry around the edges without using photoshop after.

I Don't Think You Can.


Unlike the Digital SLR, most point and shoot cameras don't have have control over the nine or so focus points. On a DSLR you could choose which points to focus on, however most cameras that aren't as advanced, doesn't have as much manual control. So, i doubt you can manual focus, the focus points.
