What type of digital camera is the best? I don't care about the price.

I like the Sony one dont klnow the name but the touchscreen one, but I heard that Canon has better cameras. Which one is better?

All of the major brands are good. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to think about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, finding a reliable place to purchase it, and the list goes on and on and on.......

The first thing to realize is that almost any digital camera will take good pictures. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading on the internet.

I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras so they can decide on the features that they really want and need.
Go to the store and hold them so you can see if they feel comfortable in your hands. If possible, take some pictures in the store to check the quality of the pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
Good Luck

The "best" digital camera is subjective based on likes and dislikes, as well as what you are talking pictures of.

The Hasselblad H3DII-50 is a fantastic camera with lots of details (not to mention huge file sizes) taking 50 megapixel pictures. It is a great camera for product photography. But at less than one frame per second, and not a great camera to hold it wouldn't be the best for taking pictures of a sporting event. In the neighborhood of $30,000. It is the pinnacle of "money is no object" for somebody to purchase it.

Similar would be the Canon 1DS Mark III at almost 22 MP. Better for handheld use, but is a bit slower and really meant for portrait type pictures. At $9,000 it is a bargain compared with the Hasselblad, but not something that the ordinary user might go with.

The fairly new Nikon D3 is lighter and faster than the previous camera, is outstanding in low light and is fast enough to shoot sports, but is "only" a 12 MP camera. In the neighborhood of $4,000 it is more than most casual users would spend, but is arguably the best sport shooting camera on the market today.

If you are looking for something that fits in your pocket, well then you are looking at something like the Canon G9. This is a point and shoot camera that captures a good 12 MP resolution and also allows you to capture your pictures in RAW format for better processing. At $450 it is neither the most expesive nor the cheapest on the market at present, but it offers the most functionality in its class.

In simple terms, if you are looking for a best of breed, "regardless of price" no matter what category of camera you are looking for, you are never looking for a Sony product. They may be the most expensive at times, but they are not a top shelf camera maker. Their products are adequate, and some like them (not that there is anything wrong with that, different tastes for different people), but they are (so far) never best of breed, regardless of what breed of camera you are looking for.

Have a read of some of the articles at http://www.ClickDigitalProducts.com/arti... they might help you buy the best digital camera for your needs.

Canon Powershots are Better.
In My Opinion

Sony doesn't contend, only with the SLR cameras. The canon cameras are less fragile.
