Why won't my camera upload pictures onto my PC?

I have a Canon Powershot A75 Camera, and recently it will not upload pictures to my Dell PC. The correct software for the camera is installed, and it used to be able to upload pictures to the PC, but has stopped recently for some reason.

There is nothing wrong with the camera itself, as it will still upload pictures on to my laptop.

I'd really appreciate help on this. Thanks

I have a Canon camera myself.
Maybe you accidentally changed something in the program settings or maybe you turned off the autorun option for the camera.
You could also try to just use a disc reader for the memory card.

You could try an alternate method of uploading pictures onto your PC for now. If you have a standard Windows XP machine this should work:

1) Connect your Camera to the machine

2) A window should automatically pop up giving you a list of options because your computer detected a new device. Hit the Open Folder Option.
a) If a window does not automatically open up, go to My Computer, then click under Devices with Removable Storage, your camera folder should be listed there, or your Camera Device. Click that.

3) Your pictures should be in that folder, search through it and you should find them... I've never had that camera before so i cant tell you the details but, you should be able to find them there.

4) If you want to copy the images from your camera and remove them from the camera itself... just cut and paste all the pictures in your camera device folder, and paste them onto a folder in your machine that you have created.

I hope this helps =) This is what I do in situations like this =)

(Also it might just be the program that the Camera is using doesnt detect the device... Try opening the program and playing around with it.)

Good luck ^^

go to control panel > system > hardware > device manager

find ur camera if its connected and uninstall it...
then unplug it and plug it back in and it should reinstall itself

update your drivers for your camera

Try reinstalling the software as it may have been corrupted

could be usb port. does it recognize your camera

Run CHKDSK, it restores currupt files
