Which digital camera is better Sony or canon if the Sony is 7.2 mega pixel and the canon is 8 mega pixels.?

its better than canon..
has better image quality,better functions and features..
better build quality and good service..
also see the optical zoom and digital zoom..its more important

Go to this review site and you will find great comparisons for specific cameras. You'll see actual photos taken in the RAW image (as long as you have a broadband connection), the photos are taken with the same settings or similar settings on each camera and the camera is extensively reviewed in a way that is understandable. I use this site anytime I or a family member is looking for a new camera. Sony has great optics on their cameras, Carl Zeiss lenses. Find the camera model numbers you are interested in and look them up on this website. be sure and read his conclusion as it brings all the important points together. I always read that first then if I'm interested I'll go look at the sample photos, etc. Once you find the review for the camera your looking for on the left of the page is a drop down to navigate the review.

I'd recommend a Canon. You really cant go wrong. There is probably a wider variety of lenses, attachments, and accessories. I've only owned cannons and have loved them they are phenomenal cameras, and they really know how to design cameras!

There is much more to camera's than just megapixels. Megapixels just determins the resolution of the images that are produced.. eg what size prints you can get.

factors are:

-Lens - some lenses are better than others
-Camera processing
-ISO
-Camera features

Megapixels don't become as important when you get to cameras in that range, instead zooms are seen to be more of a crucial factor so maybe you should compare which has the better zoom.
