What is the best pink digital camera for a new college student?

I would like to get either a Sony or Canon, and I would want a camera that takes good quality pictures especially at night. I had a Sony before, but the pictures taken at night came out really blurry.

Taking photos at night will never work unless you learn how to do it properly.
You can not handhold any camera at very long shutter speeds and expect it be without blur.

You need to use a tripod of some sort and the camera's self timer in order to avoid camera shake (and therefore blurry photos).

those two i'm familiar with since i sell them at walmart... I would go with the canon though. It's a really good camera, 8megapixel which will allow you print any size picture and use your zoom and still get a good quality picture.
It's one of the cameras with the fastest shutter lag time... it's got a lot of good features and will take good pictures even at night

But read the booklet... a lot of people don't... if you want to know how to take good pictures with your camera, read! :)

    No, you can't use it as a webcam. You will have to get a separate webcam and they can be purchased really cheaply now. I've seen them costing less than 拢5 (probably not very good quality)...

    Both are good cameras. I like Canon S5 IS because it has a hot shoe. You can mount an external flash on it and this can improve the quality of indoor flash pictures.
