How to work digital camera?

I have a Canon Powershot digital camera with the usb cord and don't know how to work it...I plug it in and what do I do next so my pictures will be on my pc?

Please provide as many details as possible...

Nothing comes up when its plugged in, when I go to Start menu...control panel...scanners and cameras...my kind of camera isn't on the list.

What to do?

Usually when you plug a camera into a computer, the screen on the camera will light up and it'll ask you what you want to do. On the camera, click something that'll say "computer" or "pc". Once you've done that, your computer will find your camera. Then, the computer will ask you what you want to do. Usually, it'll say "copy pictures to computer". Click on that, and you're set to go.

Buy a card reader instead. You put your memory card into the card reader, and plug it into a USB port on your computer. That way you don't use your camera to upload your pictures, and you save a lot on the batteries. Card readers cost only about $10, and can be bought at most stores that sell digital cameras.

Didn't it come in a box... with a paper with instructions on it?
READ!

Or,
Plug the usb in the computer then connect it to the camera.
Then, turn on the camera while it's still remaining connected.
something should pop up on the computer screen and you select one of the options.

Well, if you already know how do plug it in to the PC, you plug it in, and then you turn on your camera. and then a thing should pop up on your computer saying to import your pictures into a folder.

it should work. if not, talk to me, and see if i can help.
:D

open MY COMPUTER and click on the drive where your camera is located. then open the folder to where your pictures are stored
