How do I get photos off camera and onto comp w/o cable to connect? |
I took some photos with my digital camera that I need to get onto my computer. However, I seem to have lost the cable that connects camera to computer. Is there any way to get these photos off the camera and onto a computer? Can I take the memory card somewhere? I have a Vista computer, if that matters. The camera is a Canon 2.0 megapixel Powershot (it's ooold.) Rather than buying a new cable, I suggest buying a USB "memory card reader" compatible with the type of memory card your camera used. Wal-Mart sells memory card readers for $6.84 on up for most common types of camera memory. See links below. Other stores sell card readers too, just look in their photo/electronic departments. I doubt you'll get a replacement cable at the price memory card readers sell for now. Two people mentioned getting a card reader. Actually, this is the best way to upload your pictures, because you don't need your camera to do it. You put the memory card into the card reader and plug it into a USB port on your computer. Very easy and no more running down your camera's batteries. Card readers can be bought for about $10 at most stores that sell digital cameras. If your camera has a digital card (most do) it is removable. Take your camera to a Walmart, BiMart, or other "everything" store and you should be able to put your digital card into a machine and make a CD with the photos. well if you dont have the cord you can buy a card reader which connects to your computer if you dont allready have the slot on your tower. Other wise you can bring it to a local photo store and they can make you copies of your cd's But its good to have a card reader in your house for other times it would probably be cheaper too. You have a few choices: Does your computer have a SD card reader? That would be one way. Otherwise you could take the card to a photo place and have them put the pictures on a cd. |
