Which company makes better cameras Sony or Canon?

Please list experiences, I am considering buying a sony Cybershot or a canon digital elph. Plus are there neutral websites that rank cameras.

Another good rule. Even if you don't buy from them, check with B&H Photo (available through Yahoo! Shopping). If B&H does not sell the brand you are looking at, don't bother buying that brand.

Although Sony has its world renowned Carl Zeiss lens ! I would recommend Canon !!!

Both my Dad and brother use the Sony Cybershot, and I am pleased with their pictures. However, my photographer friend said she really like the Canon equiv. Both are good names. You should do some searching online to compare the two. It also depends on the features you want. I'd say you can't go wrong with either brand.
