Is there any type of hard disk which i can use to back up pictures from my cam?

I have a canon digital camera with a normal mini USB port, and i wanted to ask if there's any type of hard disk which i can use to directly connect to my cam and back up the pictures, without the need to carry my laptop around to back up the pictures.

So that when I am travelling, i dont have to carry a laptop around all the time, so i can simply empty my camera from the pictures and use it again

"On The Go" is one possibility, or you could look for USB bridges. If you've got an old laptop or mp3 player you might be able to canibalise the HD and put it in a case with a USB interface. They're only a few $$, and with a USB bridge to join things up you'd be able to do what you want. It's not as elegant as an OTG solution, but probably a lot cheaper.

yeah put it on a cd

Look for a portable HDD with "USB On the Go" host capability.
