Help!! How do I email a movie?

I have a very expensive Canon digital camera that I can record short videos. I have no problem downloading them on my computer, but I can't email them....Thanks in advance...

You just attach them to your message like a pic. If it's too big, most mail services wont send it. The limit is usually 10 megs, (yahoo, gmail) BUT you have to allow extra for mail protocols, so the practical limit is around 7 or 8 megs. If it's bigger than that, forget it. You have to transcode it to a smaller resoluton. Use Media Coder for that. It's free. Just google that.

Note that zip or rar compressed files will only result it a slightly smaller file. You have to actually transcode your video to about say half its original size or less. It will lose quality in the process, be warned.

Most email servers wont accept attachments bigger than 10 MB.

you can email very small movie clips as an attachment.. but if it's more than a meg or two, your email provider probably won't stand for it.. you could just burn them to a CD and snail-mail the CD...

They are way too big. You will need to compress them with winrar or winzip. Once you do that just click upload or add file in the e-mail, add the file and click send.

I movie is way too big to send via email. Burn it to a CD as an mpeg or burn it to a DVD and send it in the mail. Thats how I do it. USPS First Class and it's about $1 at the most.

Try to compress them using WinZip or WinRar, that should make the size smaller.

E-mail is not a great way to send files larger than a megabyte ot two. A lot of your friend's and family's ISP e-mail accounts may reject reciept of files that are too large. It's also possible that your ISP may be blocking you from sending those large files.

If you don't have your own server that you can use to host this file for download then there are a number of options for sending. Take a look at these free services:

MESSAGES/PHOTOS AND OTHERS SUCH AS MOVIES CAN BE SENT THROUGH THE E-MAIL BUT ONLY IF THE SIZE IS NOT MORE THAN 10MB. MAYBE, YOU CAN REDUCE THE SIZE TO NOT MORE THAN 10MB AND IF YOU CAN DO THAT, YOU CAN E-MAIL IT...MAYBE YOU CAN INCLUDE SENDING A COPY TO ME?

use some kind of instant message program, usually they allow you to send file. like aim, windows messanger, icq and such.

make sure to encode the video first, best way to get the size down, winzip and winrar doesn't do much except split the files into smaller pieces.
