I need help finding software that will do both photo and video editing?

I'm looking for editing software for my p.c. that runs on Windows XP. It is for personal videos and pictures taken on a Canon digital camera and DV camcorder.

There are several options. While Photoshop only allows you to edit one photo (or frame) at a time, there are several other programms out there to help you with what you need. After Effects, Combustion, Mirage are only a few of them. They allow you to edit video, add special effects and so on, but if you're working with a single photo (not video) I'd recommed you stick to Photoshop.

The most basic and cheapest option would be Windows Movie Maker (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using... If you are looking for some photo editing capabilities Photoshop Elements is probably cheaper than the full version of Photoshop (see http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshope... or you could use something like Paintshop Pro (http://www.corel.com/paintshop/)

I recently did a similar project and I used Photoshop to touch up the pictures and then Vegas Movie Studio+DVD to do the editing. Vegas Movie Studio was nice because it has a lot more options for audio, picture animation, and DVD creation than Windows MovieMaker does.
