can anyone explain what's the difference between usb host and usb client? how they function differently?
the PDAs i was looking for is only supporting usb client..can i connect my canon digital camera to this PDA and do a remote capture (running canon remote capture software)? Think of it this way:
Your desktop PC is a USB host, and any peripherals that you plug into it are clients.
I think your PDA manufacturer worded it that way because you shouldn't go plugging your PDA directly into a desktop computer.
Any time you see the word 'host,' then that usually regards hardware or software which hosts or manages something. A 'client' is something that needs to connect to a compatible host in order for it to work.
I'm not familiar with PDA's but when in doubt, check out the PDA manufacturer's website or e-mail their technical support staff.
I think it might work if your PDA supports USB flash memory devices. I know that Windows XP has built-in support for USB Flash devices, so if you plug in a camera, a flash MP3 player, or a USB Flash memory stick, XP will treat those devices like an external hard drive. Perhaps your PDA works the same way.
Your Canon software only works with the operating system/computer that was intended. Check your manual. |
