I recently bought a digital camera on Buydig.com. The site claims their products are brand new with USA warranty. However, I received the package today, a Canon digital camera, and there is one little thing that made me scratch my head. Everything was included, including the warranty card. All chords, manual, battery, etc., were all in their original packaging. All packaging and the box itself is in brand new condition. One thing though, is that I noticed there is no seal on the box. My experience has been that with such products there's usually a sticker or seal of some sort on the lid, that must be broken to open the lid. It didn't look as if its been removed, it just wasn't there. Also, the warranty card already had the model number space filled out digitally (not hand written, printed). So, I'm just wondering if my suspicions are warranted or if this is just how this product comes. buydig is a good company
when they buy in bulk
there is no seal
don't worry
buydig and beachcamera are 2 of the best ones online I have now purchased three Canon cameras and they did NOT have any kind of seal on the box. I was surprised, but they all seemed to be fine and I bought them from a trusted source. There were no problems registering them for the warranties, either. The serial numbers were pre-printed on the warranty cards, too.
Check the very good rating of BuyDig.com at http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Buy... Buydig.com is a reliable company. A seal on the box is meaningless; I have received cameras from unreliable companies that simply open a box, take the stuff out, then put an official looking seal (on a box that was originally unsealed!) to make the box appear untampered.
These days, thanks to computers, it's not unusual to have camera models and serial numbers already on the warrant card.
Two things to check out: 1) Does the USA warranty paperwork come in the box? and 2) Is the card addressed to a USA address? Bad companies will usually not have USA warranty paperwork or it will be a flimsy photocopy. The warranty card will not be for the USA distributor's address either.
I have bought Canon cameras from Buydig and yep, it's a USA model with USA warranty, and it came without the seal. |
