Help picking out printer?

I'm looking for an inkjet printer that has a scanner, can print digital pictures (via my new canon digital camera), and can print up my text homework in decent time. I have had my Canon I860 for quite a few years so I'm hoping that printers have improved.

I have some pictures that I wouldn't feel comfortable printing out at a store so that's why I want to print them out..I'm going to start a scrap book with the rest.

GO for Hp, no m,atter what you do. They are good, reliable and not very expensive.

Go to the HP site and look at all the models they have. As you know the higher the DPI the better the quality of the photo. Some come with a smalltray built into the paper tray that you can select and load with 4X6 photo blanks. No change out required, and don't have to worry about alignment. I like the 6 cartridge models for better color. You can take a photo card into the offices supply store and they will let you make a printout of a picture so you can decide which you like.

I'd recommend the HP Photosmart 5180. It's very fast and gives great ink quality. It uses 6 ink cartridges for great quality and is very efficient.
