Digital camera - Compact?

Would you recommend buying Casio Exilim EX-Z850?
Pros and cons...

This is one great camera. I was considering the Casio Exilim EX-Z750 and found out that Casio has release a newer version of it. Read a lot of reviews on it and finally decided to get.

Never an ounce of regret. It's very easy for a beginner or novice to use and yet has a lot more in-store for more experienced users.

No. I would need to know what you'd be using the camera for. Are you a serious photographer? Or do you just intend to take snapshots on occasion? I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ10 - up to 36X digital zoom. 4.0Mp, Autofocus with manual over-ride. Etc, etc, etc. For me, this is a great camera. For you, it may be too complex. You need to determine what it is you want from a camera and then start looking at models that suit your needs. Do not let salesmen talk you into buying a camera that doesn't have the features you want.
There is no point in spending hundreds on a camera, if you decide to up-date within a few months.

Yes. It's a great smaller camera, and the best shot features make taking pictures in different settings relatively easy. Just choose the type of setting you are in, and it sets up automatically. It's also a very fast camera, which responds quickly to the functions. It's a great camera for non-photo enthusiasts.

However, if you were a professional photographer doing studio portraits, there are better cameras and setups. This camera is optimized for someone on the go, who wants an easy yet powerful camera.
