Digital camera?? |
Hi, i just got a digital camera, as a present. you can always by pass the docking station by simply removing the memory card and using a card reader (about $20 - $25 for one that reads upto 15 different size cards ) to upload the pictures you took into your computer. you won't need any of the software, windows pictures or some other software you have installed on your computer should recognize that you are trying to upload picture files and open up automatically. Are you turning your camera on after you are plugging it in to the computer. Most PCs won't recognize anything that does not transfer power- but if you turn on the camera after you plug it in Windows should then be able to detect it. Lemme start from begining... charger and USB connections two diff things. charger is to charge the battery, then u click pics, after that you upload in PC with the USB connections...if you have windows operating system, for most models, just as you plug the camera in the USB and switch it on, 'Scanner and Camera wizard' pops up automatically and it will lead you to upload the pics.. else u can use the software that came with the camera to upload the pics.. Did you install in ur PC the software that came with the Cam?.. no need of the charger to upload the pics ..remember but the cam power should be ON. May be u r missing it here. I have 3 Digital Camera's. I Have 2 Professional SLR cameras and a Sony Cybershot point & shoot camera. I got a CD-ROM with uploading software with each camera. So when I plug what ever camera into my computer with the USB cord, that paticular Uploading software comes up for that paticular camera. If you did not get any software with your camera (which I find is kind of funny since all new cameras do come with software !!) The only other way is to buy a card reader that goes to your computer via a USB cable, or if you have a printer that has card reader built into it. |
