Picture Problems on Casio Exilim EX-Z1050?

Hi, I use the EX-Z1050 and the image is good, but when I print the pictures at the photo shop, the pictures come out blurred and bad quality. The lady there said something about resolution...Can anyone help me?? I really wanna fix my camera so I can get better shots.

Thanks so much!

I eagerly bought the new Casio Exilim EX-S880BK because of all the features like easy automatic upload to YouTube.com and how slim it is. What a complete disapointment. My Sony Cybershot from 5 years ago takes better pictures and the videos are at least twice as sharp. The grain was so pronounced and the shots all looked blurry so I got my money back. I hate to take things back, but the Casio was terrible.

I recommend going with a Nikon, Sony or Canon. Casio should stick to watches.

If you really like the Casio, you could go into the settings and increase the size of the pixels or the megabyte size of each of your photos. It will make your photos much larger on your computer monitor, but after you reduce the size of the image with Photoshop or similar program, the size will be easier to share with others. You can usually access these setting through a menu button on your camera.

The maximum pixel size and resolution of your camera is:
10M or 3648 x 2736 pixels. You'll also want to change the quality setting to "fine." Don't use the economy or normal setting. Lower ISO settings like 80 or 100 can also improve picture quality. Higher settings like 800 enable you to take pictures in lower light with less shaking, but it will increase the graininess. It's a trade off. You can also change the file type to RAW (instead of .jpg) for the maximum in recorded info. I don't usually like that setting because it's the absolute largest file and it slows the recording of the photo, but you could try it as an option especially in well lit areas.

Below are links to shots from a few years ago that I took with the Sony DSC-T1 (no longer available). All of these pictures were cropped first with Adobe Photoshop.

The first link is to the manual for your Casio camera if needed.

I am so sorry! I have done the same thing many times. Slowly, I am learning to backup everything in multiple places.

There are possibly two issues here.

First is the resolution setting on your camera. Set it to the highest your camera will support ...in your case 3648 x 2736 or "Fine" quality.

The other has to do with shooting at slow shutter speeds like those encountered when shooting in available light without flash. If the camera moves at all there will be some blurring .. even if the camera is steady, the subject could blur if they are moving.
