CASIO Exilim Colors are very off?

Something weird happened with my Exilim... If there is any natural light, the colors in the pictures are really bright and funny. However, at night, or if there is no natural light, the camera takes normal pictures. I tried to return the settings to factory settings by pressing Menu>Set Up>Reset and nothing changed.

Any ideas?

What is AUTO WB?

Put your camera on auto WB, this might help. Otherwise, you're likely using the wrong preset for daylight. If in an auto exposure mode, the brightness in natural light should be compensated for as well. If your camera has a manual, or aperture priority/preferred mode it could have the wrong settings for bright light.

And by the way, 1/60 is not a standard/default daylight shutter speed. That speed is determined by more factors than just the shutter speed. On a bright sunny day, using a wide(r) aperture at ISO 200, it is not unheard of to get shutter speeds approaching 1/500, at high noon depending on the amount of light in a frame.

EDIT:

If the picture looks normal in the LCD, but not on the computer, the monitor you are using may not be using the correct color space profile to properly display the colors. That's a whole different discussion, there. For now, try to have a print made from an image taken that display these color anomalies. If the print shows the same, than it is a camera problem. If not, than you may have a monitor calibration, or color profile problem in which case I would recommend changing it to sRGB to see if there is a change. You can do this in the display properties of your computer. But, first thing's first, go to costco with a few images, they will do prints for around 8 cents a piece. That should give you an idea of what is going on.

It certainly sounds like your camera is selecting the wrong white balance, so the question is why?

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with your camera, but I know that some cameras annoyingly have several places in the menu system for storing settings.

Have you tried manually setting it on Daylight then going outside and taking a daylight shot? What result do you get?

Try forcing the flash to fire in normal conditions if you can, the Flash WB is the same colour temperature as Daylight WB. What results do you get then?

Have you checked the colour adjustments you can apply when the camera converts the raw image to Jpeg? The poor camera may just be obeying your instructions.

Sometimes the factory settings can be overridden, another annoying aspect of some cameras design.

Just trying to help.
