Is my casio camera broken? :(? |
A waiter dropped it in a pitcher of sangria at a restaurant... i grabbed for it pretty fast so it was only half way in for about 5 seconds. And then i turned it on and it was working fine. I probably took 10 or 15 more pictures that night so i assumed it was fine. I forgot about it and went to bed and left it in the case. The next morning i woke up to look at my pics and it wouldn't turn on. I charged the battery and when i put it in the operation light on the camera comes on but is orange and then fades to light green and nothing else happens... the screen won't turn on and the lens won't move or anything.... can anyone tell me if my camera is trash or do i just need a new battery or something? It is probably broken. The circitry is probably not working becuase of the liquid. It probably could be repaired by a pro, but that would cost more than the camera is worth. Chances are it is damaged beyond an economical repair. Electronic circuits and liquids don't work well together. The costs of less expensive digital cameras has dropped to the poin that it isn't even worth the cost to repair. You may be able to get any images off the memory card. If you try, clean the card thoroughly with either alcohol or clean water and dry immediately. It was a junky camera, so get a new one. |

I have that camera and I love it...It takes fantastic pictures...And is very simple for beginers to use!! ...Contact Casio service and request either a warranty-related repair or an exchange of cameras. It's horrible that the battery leaked and ruined your camera and Casio should backup their produc... You may try ... Stay AWAY from Olympus FE's and Styluses!! They JUST SUCK! Kodak is good, just stay away from the EasyShare's. Casio and Samsung - No experience. The best for cameras is usually ... sounds like an exposure control issue. could be shutter, iris, or electronics ...They are the same camera with one important difference: the Z200 has image stabilization (to reduce blurring caused by camera shake). Here's a side by side of the specs: ... Was your camera dropped? It sounds like it might have suffered some damage. Repair on digital cameras is expensive. It's time to buy a new one. ...Try plugging it in the charge and once it is somewhat charged try turning it on. The same thing happened to my Kodak camera. If that doesn't work take it into a shop or something...Good Luck ... |
