Is this worth it ??

Is this camera any good for 400 bucks, are there others that are better and cheaper.. im willing to spend 500 dollars for a good camera.
For the people that own one, what are the pros and cons..

Sony produces some terrific cameras, but have you considered a panasonic? Panasonic has some terrific cameras with wonderful resolution for less than 300 dollars, high mp and 10x opitical zoom..
I like sony but the draw back for me is you have to use a memory stick and you have more options if you use a camera that takes a sd
card, plus they are cheaper and easier to get..
Also consider price matching, best buy, sears, etc. all price match and they will give you the cheaper plus 10% of the difference..

From my experience all mini point & shoot cameras have problems taking pictures at night. This is especially the case for Sony... Canon's are much better at night.

If you only take pictures outdoors at daylight... the camera is fine.

Also if you don't print picture bigger than 8x10, you don't need 8.1MP (will just be a waste of money & storage)

If it were me I wouldn't spend $400 on that model. To me you're overpaying just for the size. You do know it's a tiny camera. But that's me, just don't like tiny cameras, but I do own a Sony about $100- cheaper with lots of zoom.

I would look on ebay. For around 400$, you can probably get a REALLY good camera in good to new working condition. I got a DX6490, going for about 300$ on the site, for $117.98 on ebay. Evaluate features. Mine was that probably because the flash didnt work. But I have taken many pictures with it that, with the flash, would be horrible. Remember the golden rule: "If something looks to good to be true, it is". Also, check the camera you see on ebay on other places (google search "x review", where x is the camera model).

NO its not worth $400 try to find a camera with full optical zoom and for that price you will be able to find one. If its the size you want than i suggest Olympus i have a Olympus D800 which is a 8mp camera water resistant and I got it for $100 because it didn't have a box but everything else was with it. Honestly you can check clearance tables and find really good stuff. OfficeMax has a good selection for clearance
