I just recieved a Polariod video camera (I know, theres DVD, digital tapes and hard drive) and it says it comes with 512MB. I was planning for prices to drop on the hard drive cameras, but I saw this one on sale for a pretty cheap price, so I thought I could buy it. Just in case it wasn't what I wanted, I don't want to open it yet, so I have a couple questions.
1. It says that it comes with 512MB. Would that be in a memory card, or on a hard drive? I was thinking a hard drive, but that would make it so much more expensive.
2. How much video can 512MB hold (timewise)
Thanks in advance for your help! It really depends on the compression, quality, etc. It could get between 15 and 30 Mins. There is a really big quality difference between a flash camcorder and a HDD or DVD camera. because flash memory comes in much smaller quantities, they compress the video a lot to get it to fit into tighter spaces. this is fine if you just want something to carry around in your pocket to capture the moment or whatever, just don't expect too much. I would reccomend getting a 1GB or larger SD card if your camera takes them. im not sure. i am not good with knowing that sort of thing, but what you could do if you dont get any helpful answers on here, is try calling the phone # of the company on the box and ask them. most companies are more than happy to answer consumer questions.
just my opinion. wish i could help more. good luck! |
