Question about camera memory card? |
I just bought a new digital camera that is 7.1 mega pixel and I was wondering if I take the memory card out of my old camera which is 4 mega pixel and put it into the new one, will it cause a problem. Don't want to damage anything since This new camera wasn't cheap or should I just buy a new one since my card is just 512mbs As long as both cameras take the same type of card (SD, CF, XD, Memorystick, etc.) you can. But expect about 1/2 the number of pictures with the new camera. My suggestion? Memory cards are so cheap it's easier just to buy a couple. I picked up a couple of 1 gb cards for under $10 and a 2gb for $19 recently. Look for weekly sales in the paper. It should be fine, you just won't be able to save as many picture's using the new camera, because the pictures will probably take more space It will work fine just as long as the card is the same (e.g SD card, CF, MMC, Memory Stick) as the other. Dont forget to format the memory card in the new camera. You can look for the format function in your manual or settings in the camera. |
