Shopping lappy and digital camera! Malaysia or singapore cheaper??

I need to know an information... I wanna buy a laptop and i find that buying the same in either singapore or malaysia works out cheaper than buying it in india ... So am planning to take a short holiday trip to 1 of these 2.. CAn anyone tell me which between these 2 woudl be cheaper! Also, can i bring more than 1 laptop home (without the customs duty) here back..

In terms of hardware, Sim Lim in Singapore is about comparable in price to Low Yat Plaza in KL for laptops and cameras despite the difference in exchange rates. Both Sg and Mal are tax free for cameras and lap tops.

In Plaza Low Yat in Kuala Lumpur, some stores load in some (illegal) software FOC for you. Lately the authorities have a clampdown but they normally spring back up fairly quickly. Even if they do not, there are several places where illegal software are sold (night markets etc). Many visitors just load up on these befor they take their laptops home.

Not sure how many laptops you can take home to India without tax.

Always Malaysia - Ringit is cheaper that Sing $. If you are travelling with your family, you can always say one for your spouse. Difficult if you are travelling single and getting multiple similar devices

Its cheaper in Malaysia but beware of the company and the make.You may get cheap quality and you may be cheated as well in Malaysia.The chances of of getting fooled in Singapore are less

s'pore is cheaper ... buy from sim lim square. spore sell electronic items cheaper as its a tax free city for imported goods. branded items like LV, gucci,chanel.etc are also cheaper in spore..despite the higher currency rate

I have never compare the price, but as a Singaporean, many of my Malaysia friends are asking me to buy computer hardware and digital camera for them.

The simple reason is, if Malaysia is cheaper, why they need me to buy for them?
