What is the cheapest yet most decent digital camera out there?

If you want a compact, try the panasonic lumix FX01, you should be able to pick one up relatively cheap now. Also the sony dsc p100/p120 (both cameras are the same except in colour) are very good compacts although they have been discontinued now you should be able to get one second hand for a good price. Any camera from the canon ixus range is very good too, although you may pay a little more. Stay away from really cheap camera like the bottom of the range olympus and fuji models, and keep well clear of cameras from generic brands, i.e 'premier' 'medion' etc, they arent worth the money even if theyre really cheap.

I would go with Canon's new A460 for $131, it's not loaded but at least it has a manual mode, lets you modify some settings and has a decent lens:

If you are willing to go a little higher I wouldn't hesitate in getting Canon's A630, it's much nicer and only costs $214
