A really Cheap Digital Camera?

I was just wondering if anyone had any knowledge of how to go about buying those little dohickeys?!

I dont want any fancy features. I just want it to take a picture and have a USB cord to hook up to my Computer so that I can upload the pictures. I dont want anything fancy or anything like that. I guess it wont matter if I can view the picture before I upload it, If I can that鈥檒l be nice, If I cant, oh well. I dont mind.

I dont want to spend to much. Just the most basic of Digital cameras will do, honestly.

Can anyone help me. Tell me either the model or the company or show me the web page or something for it. Anything from $50-$150 which is plenty of money to spend on a camera, I wouldn鈥檛 use it much.

But it is important that it has a decent memory on it, or atleast space for a memory card.

In this J.D. Power survey:

you can see how the digital camera companies fare in customer satisfaction. I think that Kodak (#3 on the list) is a good starting point for cheap cameras with good quality.

Things to keep in mind:

---You can probably find an affordable camera with a 2.5 inch LCD screen. Camera companies found out that people are using the screen more than the viewfinder to compose their pics.

---Memory expandability is something you'll probably find important down the line. Look for a camera that takes a memory card of some kind, and buy (usually separate) at least 256MB. 1GB will be nice if you're going on vacation and don't bring along a laptop to download your pics every night. 1GB can be bought for $40, less if you hunt around (online?)

---It's hard to tell how easy a camera is to use just by looking at it, but at least hold one in your hands to see if the buttons are big enough for you. I have a low-line Fuji with a wheel-selector for mode. It's OK, but it feels a bit cheap and sometimes hard to turn when your hands are cold and tired.

I hope this helps.

Ebay !!

Buy one from ebay. They have a lot of options for quality used cameras and if you find the right one that is bundled with all the accessories you need.

Those key chain camera'a are available all over . usually for 20.00. they are also available at ebay.

4 real, the quality of the pictures are the same quality of the ones from a camera cell phone, or even worse.
To use those cameras yoou have to have great light, or else the pictures will come out very grany dark and with blu-ish red-ish colors all over.
Also, those camera's don't have space for expandable memory.

Canon and Kodak both have cameras at the $150 mark. I would not try to spend less than that, the really cheap digicams at the $50 - $100 range make really crappy pictures.

Memory has dropped in price. You should be able to get a 256MB card for $20.

Go to www.dpreview for camera reviews and information on features and usability.

Good luck!
