What is a cheap digital camera that can take some abuse? |
I'm looking for a cheap digital camera which can take some abuse and moisture / water. I fish a lot and am looking for one that I can keep in my tackle box. The camera should be resiliant to water, moisture, and heat to a certain extend. But I don't want to blow my budget of $100. The camera will be in the box only for the duration of the trip. I will take it out as soon as I get in the Truck and place it in a proper place in the house. I don't know of any at that (or maybe ANY) price level that will withstand life in a tackle box unless you are very careful! Kodak Easyshare my suggestion I don't want to be a wise guy here! but for the price range your asking about, it is not made! especially for $100.00 dollars! I have been fishing most of my life and I been a pro photographer for over 25 years!, water and sand will reek havoc on anything that has electronics or mechanical parts! if you fish in salt water that will destroy most any thing it comes in contact with! the good thing! but the bad thing is that you want to put your camera in your tackle box to protect your equipment! but again electronics and mechanical parts can not take getting bounced around! I'm sorry to say, your camera will be broken in no time! the problem is even if you spend $5 thousand dollars on your camera you will have the same problems! their is no indestructible camera out their! SORRY FOR THE BAD NEWS, There isn't a digital camera made that will stand life naked in a tackle box, especially a sub-$100 model. Sounds like you need to buy the extended warranty when you buy your next camera. I just bought one yesterday and was told that it would cover the camera even if I dropped it in water. This was on a Canon from Target. The cost was only $19 for 3 years. As far as for $100 or less - don't see that happening. Canon does have a nice camera on sale now at Target for $179.00. Good luck! |
