Best shop to buy a digital camera in New York?

I've picked out the camera I want and I'm flying to New York tomorrow so I want to be able to pick it up as quickly as possible! Where is the best and cheapest place to get a camera? I'm going to be staying near the East Village, so preferably near there or are airport shops viable? I definitely don't want to buy in the duty free shops in London.

B and H photo. Ninth ave and 34th Street (they cover a whole block). Closed on Fridays. They have *everything* at totally stunnung prices. Give yourself extra time and have fun!

B & H is the best place, but to save yourself some time, you should look at their website first, and mark down the models you're interested in looking at before you go in there. If they're busy, the place can be a zoo.

Actually near the East Village you'll want to check out J&R's Music World (right across the street from City Hall, near the Brooklyn Bridge).

Don't let the name fool you....they do stock digital cameras there and has a well informed staff.
