Memory Card - Cheap or Expensive?

When buying memory cards for a digital camera. Can you go with the cheapest or should you go with the more expensive. Say a 1G that's $15 higher than a different 1G memory card.

A lot of science and statistics goes into answering this question, if it's done right.

It all depends on the speed of your camera. If you camera writes slowly, there's no memory card that will speed it up. And if your camera writes quickly, a slow card can really bog it down. And if you take only an occasional snapshot, one at a time, there's really no way you make things so slow that it will affect you.

So your camera speed, your card speed, your picture-taking habits, and your camera's memory buffer can all play a part.

Also how many photo's those are the two major things..

Most memory cards work the same. I have some that were $25 apart in range and they work fine. No problems on either end.

Depends. Price difference may also mean you get a faster card. How valuable is reliability and your time?

You can go with the cheapest but you won't get the performance that you will from a faster card.
