Anyone taken passport photos of their child and it got refused? |
My little ones wouldn't stay still and the photographer says the UK rules are very tight e.g ears showing, no smiling, face straight on certain size etc. After lots of attempts , I have got a reasobale photo but now worried it will be rejected. Surely the passport office can be a bit more lax with kids? It will cost me a fortune in rejected pictures otherwise! Here's hoping! Cheers The rules are extremely tight, but I think I remember there being a thing on the news saying that they were going to be a little more relaxed simply because babies are not very co operative! I went to a place where they put a towel behind my daughters head whilst she was in the pushchair, then they took a pic with a digital camera, and looked at it right away and we just kept going until we got a good one, they charged me only for the pic they developed ( 拢4.50) and we were there for ages, and it was accepted with no problems. I can't remember the name of it, only that is doubled up as a dry cleaners! Sorry I can't be more help. I send a proper passport pictures for passport for 3 kids. 1 was rejected. I cut out one out of family normal picture and send it back. It went fine. Still I don't get it about all that rules We spent nearly 50 quid on photos 4 our kids all rejected ended up at a local photographer they were brilliant all 4 done in 10 minutes...................unfo... not got enough money now to go abroad!!!!!! good luck!!! I went through the same thing worried all the way until the picture was accepted they are not that bad if your child is really young the uk passport ppl will understand with kids how difficult it is to keep a child still u could always send a letter in with passport explainin this situation. the ears things is one i have never heard of, no smilin how can u stop a child from bloody smilin in front of a camera as soon as my son goes in front of camera he starts smilin. my son had his passport last august. i wasnt worried about the passport foto, i was more worried about how he was gonna be on the plane which when it happened i didnt need to worry about. The passport office are really strict, and not just with babies!! I know lots of people who have had their photos returned. However, I did my photos for my own passport and I thought they were going to get rejected because they were on paper with a watermark on (which is not allowed) but the price was about to go up and I didn't have time to do anymore, so I sent it off thinking they would reject the photos and they didn't. So send them off and see what they say. You might be ok! |
