The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with 'Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death). (Bukhari 7.62.88) THE ONE:
The reason that the questioner brings in Islam is that the prophet Muhammed married Aisha when she was 6 years old and consummated the marriage when she was 9 years old. Since the prophet is a figure to be emulated in Islam, the case above may be a man emulating his prophet.

Anyway, I will just add my two cent's worth by saying that this type of age difference is common in Islamic societies because Muslims consider the prophet a perfect person who should be emulated in all things. Since the prophet practiced pedophilia, then there is no taboo on pedophilia in Islamic societies.

Since the prophet is assumed to be a perfect person by Muslims, this implies that having sexual intercourse with nine year olds when you are 54 years old is not a problem, and hence the question. U know why? because their way of life never recovered since the cold war that left them with nothing (who's responsible for that?). I imagine this happens more than we know in that part of the world. Those poor little girls. The sick reality is that many men in their 40's would love to get it on with an 11 yr old--it is just sanctioned in certain places and cultures. Here it is shoved under the carpet like it doesn't exist. Do you know that massive numbers of American men (and from other countries) go to Thailand to get it on with little girls? Because it is illegal to do what they really want to do here. And you know what, an 18 yr old may be of age, but most American girls that age are still mental children. The way older men go after younger women with the minds of children is equally gross. It it bottomline sick in any culture. I'm just saying reality check hon. It goes on here and would be even more rampant if we didn't have laws protecting children. They should stick to goats instead of poor little girls. This is proof enough that islam should be outlawed. He married Aisha in contract initially and then she lived with him three years later. There are varying reports about her age when she married him some sources say 6,9,12,15 and the Shia say 18. According to Sheikh Hamza Yusuf all the narrations about her age at the time of marriage are singular narrations therefore there isn't one that stands out and we can affirm that narration.
In any case when she married him, she was fully formed woman, in other words capable of child birth. This was perfectly normal in that time, as it was the practice of the Arabs at that time to marry women at 12, when they had reached puberty and they did not live together until three years after that.
In most of the books, scholars generally say the age was twelve and then she went to live with him when she was fifteen, after the emigration to Medina.

Some Hindis marry when their brides are aged twelve, the Jewish tradition has about what age a woman should be when she marries, some say 6 others say 9 and 12.

Many people forget how amazing Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was, after the Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) passed away, she did not marry again. She loved him that much that she could not bear to marry anyone else.
