How do text books get their real-life pictures?

I was looking at my psychology book, and there is a picture of a pregnant woman standing in a bathroom being kissed on the stomach by her little boy. How the heck does a photographer get this sort of a picture, I mean who stages this sort of a picture? Another example; a dad yelling at his frightened child, are these all done in studios or what, and who sets them up?

I can gladly answer this question, because my sister had first hand experience with this.
While my sister was a marketing major at the University of Cincinnati she posed for picture for different text books.
Cincinnati, Ohio is one of those cities where a lot of film directors and casting calls get done. It has a large college population and there just is a lot of diversity with the surrounding topography to do various scenes.

yeah, Im pretty sure they just get actors to do those. Its not like a photographer would follow a pregnant woman all day, waiting for her son to kiss her belly! LOL

I'm sure you could capture every text book photo at the local Walmart.....if you can think of it...it's probably there in real life.......
