I bought a SONY Digital Camera(DSC-T5) from Canada @$300 including taxes , do you think it s a good camera?

i bought it from sony store ,it is a 5.1 mp camera , ultra compact in size , but i feel in dark places the pics donnt come out very clear & precise , do i need to correct some settings? i already tried out the night mode , without any fruit , so should i return it or whatlz advise if you have any knowledge

if its for home use its fine...but let me tell u sony offers more features than lens quality..thats y u dont get good pictures in the dark...but canon is the best in lens quality and also in features..if u can better return it...canon offers high sharp clear images..plus some cool features that u would really love...if u would like to know detailed info abt it IM me...

if it isn't from the u.s., it's gotta be good!

Bit late to be worrying about it being a load of old rubbish now - should have asked the questions and researched the product before buying it.

As to can you return it the answer is a simple NO. If it is faulty or broken and covered by a guarantee or warranty then that's OK, but returning things cause you don't like them.........the shop assistant is likely to laugh at you!

As i said better to do the research before you buy the product - you live and learn!

Why anyone would buy a digital camera first, AND THEN ask if its any good, is something I just can't understand.
If you just bought the camera and are not happy with it I suggest you return it (if you can)...do a little research...and possibly you will find a camera more suited to your needs.
Many of these small digicams are not very good to use in low light because of the sensors they use (among other things). Therefore, you will find that most, if not all of your low light or night shots are quite 'noisy' (speckled in appearance). Also, their flash is usually fairly weak.
Your camera has no aperture or manual priority, so you can't make your own adjustments. You will have to use auto (where the camera will automatically bump up the ISO to a higher number in low light...hence the 'noisy' pics) or you could select the appropriate scene mode....or you could try to select your own ISO to say, 200 or less (but doubt you will get great results).
When selecting a digital camera its always a good idea to do some research first (such as reading the many reviews that are available, and also checking out the forums on these websites)...to see how the camera performs and if its worth buying. Some of these little cameras are just plain rubbish...and others perform much better overall...and some are ok to great in low light, so I would suggest you take the time to read reviews etc. from the various camera sites...and maybe you can find a camera more suitable.
