What I'm looking for is a really compact camera. I want something that can easily be put in my pocket or purse, real thin. Camera I have now is like a rectangular box, I hate it. Other concerns are shutter speed and non-blurry-ness. haha bad diction. Okay, well I'd like to keep it under $200. Right now I'm looking at a Sony CyberShot DSC-W35. If you guys could give me other types to compare it to to make a final decision, that'd be great. =) Even though you have your heart set for purchasing the Sony DSC-W35 for around $185.00, would you consider an even smaller 5.1 megapixel camera under $100. The following discussion may be helpful to you.
Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:
1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
4. It's very small and light;
5. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;
6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
8. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera;
9. And the price is a mere $99 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com.] Samy's currently has this model in stock at their Fairfax store.

Good luck! Well, what's there not to like about the Canon PowerShot A630? Will give you an excellent 8X10 when enlarged, very good on battery life, takes AA rechargeable batteries and has manual controls if you care to use them. It's 4X optical zoom and 8 megapixels.

For a sub compact you may want to look at the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W50. 3X optical zoom, 6 megapixels, very good image quality, and only 1 second delay between shots. Better than average battery life. |
