I'm looking for a compact digital that will take good pictures in lower light (like indoors) and that has quick shutter response and recovery time.
What specs concerning the ISO should I look for and how can I determine shutter response/lag time when looking at camera specs?
Thanks The ISO range should be as wide as possible (from 100 to 1800 etc.). Low ISO will give you clearer photos, but not as good reaction in low light. High ISO will give the opposite.
The most important thing to look for is "f-stop" value of the lens. The lower this number (f2.8 for example) the more light the lens will let in when you take a shot. As such, the shutter can open for a short time to get the same amount of light. if the shutter is open too long, you will get blurred shots, so look for the lower number.
Re: shutter response time, this is not noted in specs alone, so you have to read the reviews. Best review is www.photographyreview.com my suggestion
