I already have a Sony camcorder that sees infrared but it's too big for me to carry in my pocket. I've also ready about digital SLRs that can be modified to see infrared. I'd rather have a compact digital camera that comes ready to see infrared. I don't even care if it can see visible light or not. If you can get a used early Nikon Coolpix, or I think an Olympus, they can. Hang on, and I'll find the website I found it on. Boy! I certainly doubt it...
There's really no room in them to filter before the imaging chip - or any other mods like in a D-SLR.
FYI: Really seriously tough new laws recently. I have a cheap digital camera fujifilm a345 and it can see the IR signals from TV remote controls and stuff, depending on what your using it for it could work but i bet most digital cameras could do that |
