I am looking to buy a digital camera, but the underwater one is another $150 (compared to the other cameras I was looking at). Do you think it's worth it?
I also found this accessory, which I could buy later as an add on.

At the moment, I probably buy an underwater disposable camera about once a year. However, if I had one, I would probably use it more often. I'm not a diver or anything, but we do spend a bit of time in the pool and on the beach (two places I worry about my camera).
What are your thoughts? The underwater case is the way to go. It is cheap and works good. Hmmm. In my experience a true underwater camera is always better than putting a land lubber camera in a case and a lot less expensive. Sometimes the underwater case is very expensive. They will cost anywhere from 100-300 dollars depending on your camera model. I would buy a good digital camera with an underwater setting and housing, but it's really your choice since it's about the same cost each way.
I'm talking about inexpensive underwater cameras of course. I would image a good regular digital camera would take better pictures than a cheap underwater camera, but who knows. |
