The Z5fd:

The Z5M:

I do not know the difference, and I am looking into buying this (one of them). At first I assumed they were the same product and went to the other site to check the price, but then I realized that they are different models. Please help me out and tell me what the difference is? they are the same camera.
Sometimes specific retailers slightly rename products for their own distribution (making it harder to compare).
the "fd" stands for "face detection". The camera can identify faces and then set focus and exposure on the face, rather than on the table and plant behind it. a nice feature, I guess.
You'll notice that the description of the product on the Circuit City page describes it as the Z5fd, even though it says Z5M at the top of the page. |
