Information need for a new digital camrea?

I love taking pictures and I want a new digital camera. I want something that takes clear picture. What specifications should I be looking for when I purchase a new camrea? Any suggestions of a good camera for a good price?

The main difference in new digital camera is size and
shutter speed.

Lower end ones tend to have a shutter lag - look at the spec

Things to look for
shutter speed (hate it when the kids move to fast and leave the picture )
zoom - depends what you want to shoot
megpixels 5 and up - depends what you want to spend

basical most units under 150 are pocket cameras, some still take good pictures. 250 to 500 puts you in the better range with fair options.

buy canon, nikon, or sony

I agree with what the others have said, but would like to add to get a camera with a chargeable battery. I have a Sony that take AA's, and it eats them up!! For all of the money I've spent on batteries, I could have gotten a WAY better camera!

Get a HP Photosmart M525. Takes great pics that are clear. But just make sure you get some re-chargeable batteries since it likes to eat em up.
