I'm 13 years old and would like to get a new digital camera soon..?

so i have been looking into it . My Dad said about the 5mp would be good for what i want it for, but i need some opinions about what brands are good or what kinds...and also the prices . I looked on walmart.com and found some, but i would like your opinions on which ones work good . Thanks in Advance

I'm 13 too, and I would DEFINITELY suggest a Canon. By FAR the most user friendly, and the quality of image is AMAZING. Try to get one with Image Stabilization if you can afford it, because it's a must. The A-series ones are cheap, but the SD-series ones are smaller, and come with a rechargeable battery.

I have the SD800 IS and I love it. Also, the A570 IS is great, for less money.

good luck!

kodiak and hp are the best

kodak cool pix is good for beginners.

The type of brand that you should get in my opinion is a Kodak. I know someone that has one and it produces very clear and sharp images. With some of the Kodak cameras you get the printer as well if you find a good deal.

Get a Nikon

The most user friendly and best are undoubtedly canon
Though you might consider a sony cybershot if you are willing to spend a few bucks extra( 100 at most)
The canon powershot series is the best one for u. might i suggest the powershot 750 . its brilliant. i have 1 and i am really happy with it

Well, I'm not 13. I'm 55. I take about 50 or so pics on a digital camera every day as part of my job. I can't speak to picture quality, but I will say that the Canon's I've had are really tough. I abuse mine a lot, and yet they always seem to get at least 40,000 pics before they die. Then I just get another Canon. I currently am using the SD800 IS

Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:

1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. Takes "continuous" 2 frames per second "action/sports" images;
4. Has macro feature for close-ups of small objects focused under 6 inches;
5. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
6. It's very small and light;
7. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards - a 2 gig card sells for $19 at samys.com;
8. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
9. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
10. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera;
11. And the price is a mere $119 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com.]

Review(s) can be found at www.amazon.com [Query: "Nikon Coolpix L10" along with pictures provided by satisfied purchasers.]

Good luck!

It would have helped a bit if you mentioned about how much you plan to spend. Off hand I'd say look into the Canon A series, and the Sony Cybershot W sweries.
