What is the difference between a handycam and Digital camera.?

Suggest which should one buy, ( Possibilities to be considered that are available in India)
Suggest some brands and if you could tell the price it would be great.

Handycam is Sony's "brand name" for their video cameras. Digital video cameras will take movies and still pictures. A digital camera is just that, a digital still picture camera. Many will allow you to take short video clips that is limited by the size of your memory card. The digital still picture quality of a video camera is nowhere near the quality that you can get even from a really cheap digital camera.

Handycam's the brand name of Sony's small, handy video cameras. While handycam's a video camera, and u can make videos/movies with it, digital camera only takes photos (digital) and short movie/video clips of length as much as ur digicam can allow.

To increase memory, u can buy extra "SD card" of various MB values, which increases ur no. of possible photos.

I have a digital camera of brand "VIVITAR", which I got for about Dhs.530 in Dubai. A 128-MB SD card was worth Dhs 98

Acc. to me, the best is Sony's Cybershot (price: Dhs 750 approx)

U can convert the prices to ur currency and see which works best :)

In Handycam u can record ur own footage of abt 1 or 2 hr depending abt the cassete or disk u use ,while in digi cam u can take picture and shoot only few mins footage.According to me Try for Sony handycam,as i am satisfied with mine sony handycam
